Speaking as Betsey Phelps, the mother of a Union soldier from Amherst, New Hampshire who died heroically at the Battle of Gettysburg, Sharon Wood offers an informative and sensitive reflection on that sacrifice from a mother's perspective. Wood blends the Phelps boy's story with those of other men who left their New Hampshire homes to fight for the Union cause and of the families who supported them on the home front.

Join WNHHS for a Potluck Supper, Member Meeting, and then enjoy Inez McDermott's presentation in which she explores Saint-Gauden's life and work, and introduces you to other creative people drawn to the Cornish area.
The meeting is free and open to everyone, and people are welcome to come to attend it all,
or simply come for the presentation at 7pm if they wish.

"A Visit with Abe Lincoln"

Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by Steve Wood, will either (TBD) speak to visitors as a single presentation, or will be available on the grounds for conversations and to visit with.
If speaking to visitors, he begins this program by recounting his early life and ends with a reading of the "Gettysburg Address." Along the way he comments on the debates with Stephen Douglas, his run for the presidency, and the Civil War.
This years Old Home Day is expected to be a fun filled day of activities and special events.

Historical Tour - Sites around the town of Unity, NH
Date & Time TBD
The Unity Historical Society is developing a tour of Historical Sites that can be found
in the town of Unity, NH.
Sites may include locations such as the Unity Town Hall (which houses one of only 135 -147 Freedom Bells known to exist that were cast by the Revere Bell Co.), the recently dedicated Animal Pound, the tomb of the unknown soldier (whose identity was eventually discovered), and other interesting sites in our beautiful town.
