In 2024, an attempt was made to find more information about this historic event. Based on the placement of the two chimneys and visible windows in the building behind the actors, it's fairly certain that the building is in fact the present-day Unity Town Office, previously known as the Chase Tavern at the time the photo was taken. Remodeling efforts eventually removed the attached shed and barn pictured at the side, so that is different as seen in 2024.
Information gathered from minutes dated April 12, 1990 (link below), recorded that a guest speaker named Ann Jenny (Lenny?) spoke of a movie titled "Ten Nights in a Bar Room" being directed by Frank Donovan. Although a director named "Frank P. Donovan (1892-1969)" did exist, a connection as the director of the movie does not. Nor can the names Kenneth Lord (or Lard?) or Jean Clark from Unity (as noted in the minutes) be found in IMDB (link below). The minutes do reference "June 13, 1958" as the likely date of a newspaper article about this event, but the article has not yet been found. Little more information about the movie, the actors, or this event, have been found. This is truly as puzzle that the UHS would like to solve. Is it possible that this version of the movie directed by Frank Donovan never made it to print? Or maybe this scene is in the movie but not accredited, or was cut from the movie?
